Waltz Away the Night

4 July 2011
6:30p.m.-10:00p.m.

For the past two years The Stone House at Lindberg Park has been available the night of the 4th of July and we have been able to reserve it for our use. And we have musicians who like playing waltzes. All sorts. We've done waltz country dances and circle waltzes and a couple uncalled waltzes. The evenings were quite successful not only for the waltzing but also because the back courtyard of The Stone House proved to a supurlative spot from which to view the Culver City fireworks. So this year, we are going to do it again. Except on Monday, of course!

The charge for the event will be $10, payable at the door.

The Stone House is a fairly small facility, so please call (310) 441-0981 or better yet, e-mail Susan Haseltine by July 2, 2010, if you are interested in attending. Also, no hoop skirts!

The Stone house at Lindberg Park is in Culver City, 5041 Rhoda Way at Virginia Avenue (Thomas Bros. map book Page 672 at G-4).

Directions: Near 405 and 10 Freeways.

Fwy 405: Exit Jefferson. Go east to Sepulveda. Left on Sepulveda. Stay in right hand lane and continue until Sepulveda forks. Take right fork which will become Jefferson again, continue to Cota (which has a signal). Turn Left on Cota. Go to end of Cota and go right. At the end of the block you will see the Recreation Center on your right. Park. Well, actually you may have to go 4-5 blocks to find parking but there usually is some within that distance because the area residents leave up the blockades from the parade staging on the morning of the 4th. There is no restricted parking near Lindberg Park in the evening, so feel free to ignore the cones and sawhorses - unless the are attended by Culver City law enforcement.

Fwy 10: Exit Overland south 2 miles to Virginia (signal), right (west) 4 blocks to the park.
